Wondering whether he received her letters from January and March, and expressing her uneasiness at his silence; hoping that he and Mrs. Carpenter will eventually settle in Scotland, noting that the Scotts have allotted a room in their cottage for them and describing the hunting and fishing in the neighborhood; discussing her children and Scott's literary fame and connections, including to the Prince Regent, noting that "although you should come here a stranger you would not long remain one;" remarking that "I feel myself so proud and anxious to have [my brother] here that I believe I must take my passage for India unless you come soon;" describing the extended visit of two ladies.
